We are very pleased that EduNations Hope Academy Primary Schools in Fintonia and Mayatta are now beneficiaries of new Performance–Based Financing (PBF) school grants from the government of Sierra Leone.

The PBF grant program is intended to provide innovative additional support to schools which:
1) achieve specific learning and administrative outcomes (e.g., student attendance, retention, and test outcomes,

2) have special needs (e.g., schools in poor communities or with students with disabilities) or

3) have specific maintenance needs.

The PBF funds are available only to primary schools for now. We are proud that two out of the five EduNations primary schools were able to win grants in this new program as a sign of government recognition of the good works that EduNations is doing.

While the amount of the grant was small, NLE 3,500 or approximately $260, it was sufficient to fund repair of the water pump at the primary school in Fintonia.
