Hello, my name is Kadiatu Sillay.
I am 18 years old and a student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa, currently in Grade 12 (SSS3). I was born and raised in Fintonia by a Muslim family. My father is Guinean, and my mother is Sierra Leonean. I have four siblings.
When I was in primary school, my father divorced my mother and returned to Guinea, where he remarried and started a new family, leaving us behind. My mother has since worked hard to support us on her own, farming and running a small business in the village to provide for our daily needs.
Before coming to EduNations, I struggled with many emotional challenges. It was painful to see my mother bear all the responsibility for our home. I had difficulty forgiving my father for abandoning us, and I also faced financial challenges that made it hard to meet my personal needs.
However, through EduNations and the discipleship program, I’ve learned to forgive and let go of the hurt. I now trust that God has a plan for my life, and I am deeply loved by Him.
Thanks to EduNations, I have grown spiritually and developed a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. I am proud to be the first girl from Fintonia to complete EduNations' primary, junior, and now senior secondary education. I’m also grateful for the strength to face all the challenges and, most importantly, for coming to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
As I prepare to graduate in 2025, I dream of studying political science at the University of Sierra Leone.
Thank you, EduNations, for making the world a better place for everyone. You have shown me God’s love and encouraged me to see the bigger picture and appreciate the beauty in every part of life, no matter how small.
Here’s to many more years of igniting hope through education!
