EduNations' president, Rev. Dr. Samuel Sesay, has been recognized among the Top 100 Sierra Leonean Professionals for 2024, an award that highlights the dedication and achievements of outstanding Sierra Leoneans making significant contributions to national development. Organized annually by African Consulting Limited, this prestigious event celebrates individuals who are leading efforts to create a brighter, fairer, and more sustainable future for the country.
The award honors individuals for their excellence, leadership, and creative application of their professional expertise toward advancing Sierra Leone. Rev. Dr. Sesay was recognized for his exemplary leadership in driving EduNations' impactful work in under-resourced communities across the country. EduNations Inc., a non-governmental organization (NGO), has made a lasting mark through its efforts in providing education and fostering development in some of Sierra Leone's most disadvantaged regions.
At the 9th Annual National Professional Awards, held on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Freetown, Rev. Dr. Sesay was presented with this recognition for his unwavering professionalism, ethical conduct, and commitment to national progress. The selection process for the award involved public nominations, followed by a rigorous evaluation of the nominee’s societal impact, with Rev. Dr. Sesay standing out for his dedication to community development and educational advancement.
In addition to this achievement, EduNations has also been nominated for the prestigious Bai Bureh Foundation Award, which will be presented on December 14, 2024, in Port Loko District. This nomination recognizes the organization's outstanding contributions to the district, including providing access to education and transforming the lives of many. The Bai Bureh Service Delivery Awards process involved thorough public nominations, impact assessments, and verification conducted by the Foundation’s executive management and awards committee.
Reflecting on this recognition, it is clear that while EduNations' work is rooted in passion and love for the communities it serves, its efforts do not go unnoticed. Rev. Dr. Sesay and the team at EduNations have inspired countless individuals through their work, and this award serves as a testament to the organization's commitment to creating a lasting impact in Sierra Leone.
EduNations continues to demonstrate its commitment to transforming lives through education, making a profound difference in the lives of thousands of children and families in Sierra Leone. As they prepare for the Bai Bureh Awards, the organization remains focused on its mission, knowing that their dedication is recognized and appreciated by the communities they serve.
"I am truly humbled and surprised by this recognition. I give all the glory to God and extend my heartfelt gratitude to African Consulting Group for acknowledging our small contribution to the socioeconomic development of our beloved Sierra Leone.
Although this award bears my name, I know I could not have achieved anything without the incredible support of the EduNations Board, staff, students, partners, and donors. This award belongs to all of you. Thank you for standing with me on this journey and making our mission possible." - Rev. Dr. Samuel Sesay
