The Sierra Leone government recognizes that non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are critical partners in the successful economic and social development of the country. To best encourage and leverage the success of the NGOs, the Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (SLANGO) was created as the secretariat to coordinate the activities of various NGOs.

Over the years EduNations has been a contributory member and even a leader within SLANGO. This year SLANGO has been engaged in reviewing the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s draft of a four-year “Development Cooperation Framework” to provide suggestions to make the framework even better. The document defines the roles of various development partners and the organization of various development activities to help achieve Sierra Leone’s Sustainable Development Goals.

EduNations, with a well-earned reputation as a successful NGO, has been very involved with the review process. Our leaders see this cooperation with government and other NGOs as another opportunity to serve not only our students and communities, but also the country as a whole.
